This championship game was a rematch of the final pool play game for both teams. Exciting coincidence that both semi-final games ended earlier in the day with dramatic walk off homeruns in the bottom of the ninth. Tournament MVP, Kevin Nykoluk hitting his 5th home run of the tournament, a clutch walk off homer with 2 outs vaulting the Waves past the SoCal Tigers. In the other semi-final, Martel London hit a dramatic bottom of the 9th walk off shot to defeat the recently crowned National Champion Newport Storm to win it for the Muckdogs.

This Toys for Tots Championship Game was a see-saw battle; led by game MVP Eric Martin. Martin finished the game for the Waves going 3-5 with 3 rbi's and 3 runs, including a monster homerun in the 3rd inning over the right field wall. The defensive play of the game was made by Stu Sellz in the bottom of the 9th inning. After scoring 2 runs with no outs and getting the tying run on second, Sellz snared a hard one hopper and held the Muckdog runner at second base. The Waves pitcher Acuna went on to get the final two Muckdog batters to line out and the game ended 7-6.

It was easily the best Toys 4 Tots Tournament in years with almost every game going down to the last batter. The teams included National Champions and many current MLB minor league and future Major League stars.
