2001 Federal Division Champions!

Santa Clarita Dodgers fought The Law and WON!

Dodger ace pitcher, Kent Ervin struck out twelve and allowed just one earned run on four hits to lead the number 1 seed, Dodgers, to a 6-2 victory over the Law Dogs in a twilight Federal Division Championship game at Lancaster Stadium Sunday, August 26th.

Ervin got plenty of help from designated hitter Steve Seig when he blasted a Grand Slam to left field with two outs in the bottom of the fourth to give the Dodgers a 5-0 lead.

The Law Dogs scored once in the seventh on a blistering double by designated hitter Ethan Bowlin scoring Amador Galvez and once in the eighth on an error and a fielder’s choice.

Law Dogs pitcher, Wes Yukniewitz pitched very well but took the loss allowing 6 earned runs and striking out three. In all the Dodgers collected nine hits and Seig was the only Dodger to get two hits.

The Dodgers finished the regular season at 18-2 and the Law Dogs at 17-3
