It's official! The Mada Scrappers, have finished off the Pacific Coast Baseball League Fall season with their 3rd straight pennant in as many years. On Dec. 29th, the Scrappers defeated the So Cal Angels 4-0 in a nail-biting pitching duo title game. Dustin "G-Sauce" Gober put the team on his back and carried the team into a shower of champagne. He threw his first PCBL complete game shutout for the Scrappers, striking out 18 Angels batters, and giving up just 2 hits in a near perfect pitching performance. Opposing pitcher, Tony Baretelle from the So Cal Angels held the Scrappers offense to 6 hits, on 0 earned runs in his unfortunate solid performance. Mike Kolbach (2-3, 2B, R), Alfie Baca (1-3, 2B, BB), Brian Spottsville (1-3, Sac, RBI), Pac Gutierrez (1-4, RBI, R), and Justin Bray (1-3, R) were the Scrappers top offensive performers. |
